Bending Tree Tai Chi Kung teaches classes and provides information for Tai Chi, Chi Kung, and Qigong in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. We invite you to learn more about Tai Chi and Qigong, to see our class offerings and schedule, pre-register for a class, and to review the other information we've provided.
It is our pleasure to offer you the teaching.
Bending Tree provides access to books, magazines, and other material for our students' use.
There is much to learn about Tai Chi and Qigong from academic study. This includes reading the works of past and current tai chi and qigong masters and practitioners, and the philosophy of the Tao and religions around the world. We in the West typically know very little about these ancient practices, therefore it certainly helps to gain a deeper understanding of the history, philosophy, and culture of Tai Chi and Qigong. And Western research is demonstrating more and more a scientific basis to these ancient arts. There is no substitute for personal study with a certified teacher, but one should always take the opportunity to supplement this teacher-student interaction with self-paced academic study. Always take an opportunity to learn, look for teachers all around you. Bending Tree offers two vehicles to assist the student in their academic study: we offer a Lending Library at our Center, and we have created a storefront at Amazon with a list of recommended reading.
Click this link to access Bending Tree's Amazon store. By purchasing products at Amazon through our Amazon storefront, you contribute directly to Bending Tree Tai Chi Kung. Bending Tree receives a small fee for every purchase you make through our store. This allows us to purchase books and other material for our Lending Library. Thank you, and continue supporting Bending Tree.
Welcome to our Lending Library. The Bending Tree lending library is on site at the Bending Tree Center and is available to current and graduate students of the Bending Tree Qigong, Tai Chi, Meditation or Wellness programs. There are almost 200 books available in several categories. To check out a book on site, simply see the class coordinator if you are in a class or visit the center and someone there will help you.
To review book choices in our library, use the database below to search for items, and use the form at the bottom of the page to submit a request to hold an item, or to submit a review on an item. We value the insights and opinions of our students, and we look forward to continue in our mission to "Offer the Teaching."
One other note, if you have books in the categories you see in the database and you wish to gift them to the center so other students may benefit, please email our librarian and we will arrange to receive your gracious gift. Thank you!
